Our third annual MusicFest, in association with New Malden Methodist Church, will take place on the first three Saturdays of July (2, 9 and 16 July).
We begin on 2 July with a recital on the splendid, recently-restored church organ by Jeremiah Stephenson (Organist and Director of Music at All Saint’s Margaret Street).
MusicFest continues with talented young local Baritone, Dan D’Souza and Dylan Perez (piano) presenting ‘Around the World in 80 minutes’: a vocal programme that will cater to a wide range of tastes.
The grand finale is ‘Inspired by Ballet’, a programme including works by Martinu, Dutilleux and the ever-popular Appalachian Spring by Aaron Copland, performed by the Riverside Sinfonia, conducted on this occasion by Martin Smith of the London Mozart Players. This concert will be a welcome return to New Malden for many of their wind players, who rounded off our very first MusicFest (pre-Covid!) with a memorable performance of Mozart’s Glorious Gran’ Partita Serenade – directed by our very own Jane Booth.
All concerts start at 7.30pm in New Malden Methodist Church (49 High Street, New Malden KT3 4BY): £10 for each concert, or £25 for a subscription to all three.
