Music in New Malden is a focus for classical chamber music concerts in South West London, and was founded by local musicians Jane Booth and John Irving in 2009. We offer a wide variety of repertoire (sometimes with a period-instrument focus) performed by professionals, students from the London conservatoires and local community groups.
Since 2016, Music in New Malden has developed a distinctive strand of outreach locally, but we want to do more: extending our reach to other local communities who, for a variety of reasons (which may include mobility issues, mental health issues, family situations, as well as financial pressures), cannot access ‘live’ classical music-making and its proven enhancements to health and wellbeing.
Concerts normally happen on the second Sunday of the month at 3pm at New Malden Methodist Church (KT3 4BY) but since September 2020 we have been offering concerts online on our YouTube channel because live concerts have not been possible. The costs of these are currently being met from our reserves.
If you would like to support the work of Music in New Malden and allow these streamed concerts to continue for as long as necessary, you can help in two ways:
1. by becoming a member of MiNM. For just £5 a year you will receive news about and links to our streamed concerts and be invited to attend a special members’ event, we hope early next year.

2. by making a donation on-line when viewing a concert, rather than putting cash in the retiring collection at a live concert. Our audiences are traditionally generous, making an average donation of £7, but we only ask people to give what they can afford.
