On 10 May we welcome Sophia Prodanova (violin) and John Reid (piano) to play a recital of sonatas by Schumann and Brahms – Schumann in D minor and Brahms in G major: two of the towering greats of the nineteenth-century repertory.

Music in New Malden ends its 2025-26 series with a visit from the London Saxophone Choir (dir. Stuart Longley) which will range across dance styles, from tango (Piazzolla’s Libertango) to waltz (Shostakovich’s Waltz No.2) to rumba (Jamaican Rumba) and flamenco (Malangueňa). They’ll also perform classical works by JS Bach, Rimsky-Korsakov and Kurt Weill, plus a selection of popular songs including Rising Sun, Over the Rainbow, Beyond the Sea and the theme from Monsters, Inc.

Core instrumentation is soprano, alto, tenor and baritone. LSC have an inclusive membership policy, and players are drawn from all walks of life.
